After spending 30 years in graphic arts and communication, Nathalie, founder of Les Militantes, decided to create a brand of plus size clothing for women.

Because it had been 25 years since she said goodbye to size 42... 25 years, since fast fashion was the only one that wanted her while she was looking for dresses, jackets, skirts at creators who shunned it.

She has participated in dozens of meetings, client presentations, seminars... each time with a challenge: finding a chic, trendy and impeccable outfit to be comfortable and presentable.

During all these years, she has met and spoken with many women in the same situation as her. Everyone agreed that this situation was not normal, that the fashion world needed to look at curvy women and dress them...

Because almost 60% of women in France dress in sizes 42 and above.
Because in France, when you dress in size 48 you have 71 times fewer clothing choices than when you dress in 38 (imagine in 54 or more)
Because 80% of French women who dress in large sizes feel discriminated against, that they cannot find ready-to-wear outfits that they like, that they dress out of spite and not out of taste.

A first collection was born in September 2021, and since then many models have seen the light of day.

Flowing dresses to wear with boots or heels, black, camel or electric blue wool and cashmere coats, silk shirts that you wear with a skirt or a suit to go to work or jeans for a casual chic look , airy viscose blouses, thick and colorful velvet blazers, which can be worn during the week or on the weekend.

And since every woman has a different silhouette, Nathalie has decided to offer her pants in 2 different morphologies, for those with wide hips or rounded buttocks.

Each piece is created, modeled and made in Paris in small workshops with unrivalled know-how. A jury of experts awarded the Made in Paris label to Militantes.

As a premium plus size clothing brand, fabrics are carefully chosen. Materials from petrochemicals (polyester, polyamide) are banned as much as possible, in favor of less polluting materials (viscose, cotton, linen, tencel, etc.) and more breathable.

 

The modeling is carried out by a specialist in generous curves.
This means that the sleeves, cuffs and bottom of the pants are designed and modeled to allow all parts of your body to pass through without problem, and with absolute comfort.

Obviously, particular attention is paid to the quality of the finishes of the models offered. Each piece is designed to be worn in all circumstances. At the office, in the evening, on the weekend, our clothes adapt to all your activities.
