The reality of sizes

40% of women are size 44 and above, here in France (figures from 2016, source Click'n'dress).

In this same study, conducted on 55,000 women, 6.4% of them are a size 36. And 6.1% are a size 48. Almost an equivalent proportion.

Yet a woman wearing a size 48 has 71 times less choice of clothes than a woman wearing a size 36 ! The study does not give any figures beyond that, but imagine when you wear a size 52, 56 or even larger...

This disparity creates a gap between the fashion on offer and the real needs of consumers. An injustice that needs to be repaired.

Representativeness and diversity

2.2%. This is the proportion of plus-size models who walked the runway during Paris Fashion Week in September-October 2023. An improbable figure when you look at the reality of sizes. Especially when you know how much fashion has a profound impact on self-perception.
Seeing models who look like us in advertisements and magazines helps build self-esteem and promote a positive body image.
